Riverdale Share Community Association is a registered non-profit, volunteer-driven organization whose mandate is to produce a large inclusive, festive celebration while raising money for families in crisis within the Riverdale community.
Every holiday season the Danforth Music Hall fills to capacity as members of the community gather together to enjoy a unique, lively and diverse afternoon of entertainment. A wealth of established Canadian performers and entertainment personalities join forces with local talent and school choirs under one roof to create a truly magical afternoon.
In past years, participating performers have included such well-known stars as Great Big Sea’s baritone Murray Foster, Royal Canadian Air Farce comedian Luba Goy, Tragically Hip’s Gord Downey, pop-group Moxy Fruvous, Terry Hatti of the Guess Who, Martha (and the Muffins) Johnson and many more. Last year’s sold-out concert featured the Barenaked Ladies’ Steven Page, Blue Rodeo’s Jim Cuddy, Little Mosque on the Prairie’s Arlene Duncan, Canadian country legend Russell deCarle from Prairie Oyster and CBC personality Jian Ghomeshi.
This year’s line up already boasts Steven Page (Barenaked Ladies), Murray McLauchlan, Lorraine Segato (Parachute Club), Theresa Tova, Cindy Church, Jory Nash, Jian Ghomeshi, Michael Brennan, Wendell Ferguson, The Bad Dog Theatre Company, The Bebop Cowboys, Chinese Lions, Russell deCarle, Tara MacLean and that’s just the beginning. Stay tuned!
